Been shooting a bunch of photos on trailer beds, apparently.

Tons Of Fun, Kickflip Fakie.

This spot was pretty hard to skate. As you can see, the bank is all sorts of fucked up, and the short run-up consisted of wood planks that would randomly stick out and catch your wheels. Regardless, Tons did this kickflip in true style.

It also happened to be the hottest day of the year. Being from Florida, Tons didn't care.

After taking a quick break in the shade, we found this trailer. Jimmy stepped up to it. The finished photo is being used for a Paradise Wheels ad, but I had to show this one because of Zach's face:

A couple days later, we found this dumpster thing next to a house being remodeled. The guys working on the house were super cool about it.

Been going out shooting a lot lately. Yesterday we met up with Abair and some of the homies. He wanted to film a line starting with this 5-0.Got it. Next we went to this weird curvy ledge up in the hills. Toby got a sick 50. Up the street we found this bar. Lou was doing hippie hops before an angry lady kicked us out.Ended the night right. Burning some Christmas trees at the beach with the crew.It's going to be a god year.

Rasa Libre Leftovers

Been out shooting with the Rasa Libre crew. Here's some stuff that I've been sitting on. And to start you off:

BAM! Rasa flowbro Jameel Douglas with a Hardflip and the currently skateable Union Square gap.

This spot may look fun, but it is a bitch to skate. Uphill run up, plenty of people moving by, and fast moving traffic about 10 feet away. Regardless, Evan Kinori came through with this front board pop out.

Jesse Narvaez with a switch ollie at this fun little spot. Jesse has been handling business as of late. If you haven't seen his part in the Rasa Libre video, go check it out.

Zach Chamberlin is the Rasa filmer, but he also rips. East bay 5-0.

So I quit my old job, got a new one, so hopefully I will have some more time to go out and shoot, and therefore update the blog.

So here we got some photos from a day out in the City, skating around downtown. First hit up this nice bump over the sidewalk. Ian Brunkow with a Frontside Flip:

Andrew Langi was killing it in full effect. Here we got a huge tweaked frontside air in the bowl.They set up a big extension in the bowl for the best trick contest. Langi came through with a Madonna to Tail.All the way from across the pond, Ben Raemers has been on fire lately. He took first place in the best trick with this insane front blunt on the extension.

Will came down to San Francisco not too long ago. We hit up this school yard spot with a nice set of stairs. After a pretty good couple games of skate, Will, along with his buddies Andy and Casey, starting hitting up the set.

Will has been doing switch flips a lot. Here's one.

After Will's switch flip, I ventured on to the roof to get another angle. It worked out pretty well for Andy's Nollie Back Heel and Casey's Tre Flip.

David was an amazing person and skateboarder. Always there to lighten th mood or keep us on our toes. If there was one thing David was not, it was boring. His absensce leaves a big void in the Sacramento skate scene. This switch Bluntslide (taken in 2005) is the only photo I ever shot of him. I really wish I had shot more.

This is Justin. I had another frontside flip photo of him earlier on the blog. I labeled him as "Some Kid." Well this Frontside Flip is considerably larger, and his name is not "Some Kid." It's Justin. Get it right.

Oak Park Gap:

Oak Park gap confuses me. It was as if someone was like:
"Let's build an absolultley perfect gap, with perfect run up and perfect landing. Yeah. And let's put it in the shittiest, most dangerous part of town."

Been here a lot latley. I don't like going here though. It's to stressful to keep an eye on all my equipment ALL the time, and there are all these lurker kids that ALWAYS follow you to your car after the sesh is over.

Never the less. It's good for shooting photos.

Spring Break Fun

So I was back in Sac for spring break. My main goal was to seriously shoot as many photos as I could. I think I did pretty well.

Zach Taylor:

Zach is a man am from my dad's home town of Akron, Ohio. He rides for Matt Rod's company Frontline. He's sick. He called me up to shoot this wallride nollie out into a sketchy bank. This spot is right next to a barber shop, and at one point the barber came out and said, "Have you landed it yet?"

Sean Stout:

Sean's a cool kid. He just calls me way to much.
"JOE!"
"What Sean?"
"Get you ass down here! Let's shoot a photo!"
"Alright. Where you wanna go?"
"Oh. I dont know."

When we did get this photo of a giant lipslide down Safeway rail, the conversations changed into something like this:
"JOE!"
"What Sean?"
"You post that photo yet?"
"No."
"I want that shit for Myspace!"

Tristen Moss:

Tristen is sick. Too bad we was pissed off all the time beause he was riding the wierd "Funky Yoyo" wheels. Good thing we wasn't riding them when he pulled is Pivot Fakie on Madison wall.

Kyle Duval:

This was Kyle's first time skating the table at Southside. Yeah. He pulled this stylie Nosegrind. Butters.

Aaron Harrison:

Aaron took me out to this ridiculous wallride spot out at McClellen Airforce Base. He wanted to shoot an Ad of a kickflip wallride. Unfortunetly, we got kicked out a the security guard. It's probably a good thing we didn't spend to much time there. I hear that place has pretty high toxic waste levels.

JR Dias:

Yeah. JR pulled this Switch Ollie down this massive gap. IN A LINE. JR is amazing. Hands down.

Dave Urke:

Dave is one of my favorite people to go out shooting with. Not only is he a great guy, but you are almost garunteed to get a photo. This day we went out, we went t this spot, which everone describes as "a spot I skated when I was 15." Whatever I thought I was fun. Dave pulled ut a Front Blunt.

After this spot we headed to this crazy gap-to-rock bank spot. I feel like a dick because I basically made Dave ollie into a sketchy rock in fading light, and the picture was out of focus. Sorry Dave.

Blaine Barker:

This was the first time I had ever skated with Blaine. This guy is ridulously good. He has the hook-up with DVS and definetly deserves it. This clean Backside Tail is just a taste to his smoothness.

I don't even know what to say about Blaines Frontside Flip Wallride. I was just blown away.

Hey everybody.

I went out the other day to Baker Beach with John Bird. The day was looking pretty shitty, but it miraculously cleared up, so the picture taking conditins were Ideal. John was trying Back Noseblunts on the big bank:

This bank is ridiculus. It's pretty steep with an ackward run up and crazy rough ground. John was getting pretty tired, but I made him keep going becuase there was no way I was giving up a shot with the bridge in the background. It was too perfect.

Darkroom Fun

I have been spending some time in the darkroom latley. Here are my latest prints.

Alex had a song he wanted to record, so he pack up all his equipment and we went over to Dominic's apartment. Super fun day. Just hanging out playing music and coming up with crazy ways different instruments. We all ended up singing gang vocals for his song. We also didnt have a drum set, so the beat consists of me beating a bass case on the ground while Cameron rapped his knuckles on a guitar case.

Dominic is an anomaly of a person. He came out of a troubled upbringing and ended up one of the most lighthearted people I have ever met. He is a beautiful songwriter as well. But he was having some trouble. Haven't seen him in a long time, but I hear he is doing better now.

Alright, this weekend started with myself and Mr. Huerta running into JR and Abner at Rusch Bump. From there we headed, along with a whole slew of San Jose heads, to Safeway rail. Now, if you don't know about Safeway Rail, imagine the toughest bastard ever, and turn him into a hand rail. JR tried to Nollie over the beast, but ended up getting wrecked. He'll go back eventually.

From there we headed to the gap right next to Roseville Triple. This San Jose dude pulled a pretty sick ollie:

Yesterday, I traveled to West Sac with the Smash Hit team. Tristen Moss has been so far ad-less, so we were detemined to change that. We got out there and he started tearing it up with a Front Smith:

I came back to Sacto for Thanksgiving break. It was cool. I got to skate with some people I haven't skated with in a while.

First thing I did when I got back was head out to the ever-famous Rusch Bump in Roseville. Huerta wanted to get a photo of a fakie flip, which he had already landed:

This past month has been mostley made up of me being sick and not skating, so I haven't reall had much to update with.

This past weekend, Joe Huerta and Will Greyson came down from Sac to skate. We met up with these guys John and Graem from Atalnta.

We headed over to Oakland to this rail, and I got a couple different angels of Will's front board:

Alrighty here is the second dose of Sacramento skateboarders.

This is Ohio native, Andrew Dellas. Andrew rides for Matt Rodrguez's company Frontlnie and is the new golden boy of skateboarding. Here he is catching a lofty stalefish in Woodland. He had a clip in Transworld's "Let's Do This!" Did you cacth it?

This is another Ohioan, Zach Taylor. Zach also rides for Frontline, and has the most obscure bag of tircks ever. Never challenge him to a game of SKATE. He will destroy you. Here he is doing a 360 Boneless on the granliest hip ever.

This is my good buddy Kyle Duval. He just spent a couple weeks in spain and got to skate the coolest shit ever. Here he is catching a Nollie Flip back in his hometown. This also happens to be Kyle's first nollieflip down a gap. Go Kyle!

This is Mark Dillon. He recently graced the SLAP website as one of the OIAM finalists. But you assholes din't vote him into the top five! Well, anyway, here he is doing one of his signature 180 noseginds on a tall ass rail.

This is Dave Irkie, or Naughty Dave. he is one of the the gnaliest people I have ever met. This gap is off someone's porch is ridiculous. He told me once he drank a whole bottle of Robetussen PM, and ran around a park for 2 hours to fight off sleep. After that, he said it was like being drunk, high, and on LSD all at the same time. But he's been clean for two years. Keep it up, buddy! This clean pop shuv was done by my homie Alfonze Marquez. Al has a serously sound head on his shoulders. Big Simpsons fan. Love's his Guiness.
This is joe Huerta, AKA the whitest mexican I have ever met. Joe's a really good friend. Been skating with him for years. He's got the crasiest bag of flip tricks ever. Here he takes a break form donkey flips to bring you this tall crooked grind.
This is Pedro Silva, one of the greatest kids I know. He knows where his priorities lie, and thats something you got to respect. Here he is catching a pretty large kickflip down at Power Inn park. Only a few hit this set.

So I ran into John, an aquaintice of mine from Sacramento, and we decided to go skate. We first hit up Golden Gate park, but, to our dismay, te foutain was blocked off. So instead, John tore up his hands when olling this beast.

From there we moved on to this sick flat gap spot where John got a sweet Backside Flip:

If you notice in the photo, it seems that some homeless, aspiring artists has moved into this spot. There were these pretty cool drawings just lying around.

With this update, I am sharing with you the events on one day in July. I think. Anyway, the plan was to meet up with Andrew Pott and Jorge Comelli down at this little warm up gap. Here we go. First post.

I've just moved into the dorms here at SF State. Classes start tommorow. That's cool.

I've been skating around the campus a bit, just to get a feel of the area, looking for spots. I've bombed a few fun hills, but thats about it so far. I've met a couple people around the campus who skate, so hopefully we'll be skating soon.
